Usage notes

Mail

Because I tend to be very busy, I may take a while in responding to mail from people other than immediate friends and business contacts, and can't guarantee a response at all. But I do read all my mail.

I welcome PGP-encrypted email; feel free to import my public key, which you can also fetch from MIT's keyserver.

IM

I stay connected to AIM and Jabber all day long. I rarely use Skype, but am happy to have pre-arranged conversations there.

If you IM me by saying "Hi" or "What's up" or something similarly content-free and I don't recognize your handle, I'm unlikely to respond. Why not introduce yourself?

I am not a singer or a basketball player

Please note:

I am NOT heartthrob singer Jesse McCartney.

I am NOT inspiring basketball prodigy Jason McElwain.

I am author/producer/hacker/thingy Jason McIntosh.

Please don't send me mail for other people with similar nicknames. I am very busy and will probably ignore it. You won't know why the Jmac you love never wrote back, and you will be sad. Don't let this happen to you!

Further note: though I am much more sympathetic to any confusion it causes, I am not the author of any articles from the 1990s about creating tile-based graphics for computer games. That is an entirely different Jason McIntosh. I don't know how to conatct him - sorry.
